Collaboration with Roel Weerdenburg

Artist Roel Weerdenburg and I were choosen by Werkspoor kwartier and HUB-IN to create an art piece that related the history of the neighborhood to the neighborhood now.

Our artwork is a steel pergola, overgrown with a biodiverse collection of plants. The green and industrial sanctuary we envision symbolizes the historical DNA of the industrial area and the dreamed future of creative meeting places and green, sustainable public spaces currently under development.

The plants we used were donated both in seed form and also full plants by local buisnesses and comunity members. The greenery on, around, and around the pergola represents the neighborhood's growth and transition to a more sustainable and diverse green future.
