CircuitFreax
Ongoing art and deco project with Roel Weerdenburg
CircuitFreax is an audiovisual landfill. 99% of all parts, objects, sculptures and technology visibile and hearable are re-, up- or downcycled.
Our collaborative artworks aim to show the process of ‘skipping’ as an artistic practice. To build our sculptures we scavenge for discarded, broken, and abandoned electronics. Because we build our art almost 100% with trash, we are rejecting the class and resource inequality in art and showing what can be done with leftover materials.
Tunnel Vision
Collaboration with Roel Weerdenburg en Max Vermeulen
(A work from CircuitFreax)
How will humans reuse mass-produced waste after the collapse of capitalism? "Tunnel Vision" aims to explore a not-so-distant future where humanoids discover the mountains of trash left behind by centuries of capitalist mass production and waste. Unaware of the original purpose of electronic waste, they use it in new and creative ways. Built on a cyberpunk aesthetic, this immersive installation offers a glimpse into this not-too-far-fetched post-apocalyptic world. Tunnel Vision is a collaborative project combining three distinct artistic backgrounds: Etta Harkness Bartholdi, Roel Weerdenburg, and Max Vermeulen. Exploring this theme through the lens of visual art, multimedia video art, installation, and technology-driven art, these three have crafted an intense experience.
